I just visited http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail.php3?fid=965719188 can read some reviews about DP2.
All reviewers were amazed by the large amount of supported formats and the hierarchical playlist feature. Regarding the UI the reviews are different. Some are good like:
"Nice elegant looks, and supports a shit load of music formats, great!"
"I really love DeliPlayer's GUI. Especially the new skins that are appearing now on the DP website are very well done."
Some are bad like:
"Only drawback is the heavy use of CPU,slowness of GUI, and a sometimes hard to master UI."
"But, the GUI is awful!! I think that the user interface should be worked on."
Personally I like skins in the style of Winamp (look at the modern skin of Winamp5) more. I just looks better for me.
Any other opinios on this topic? |

Well, Do you want Winamp 5 or DeliPlayer 2 ???
Every program has advantages and disadvantages.
One problem with winamp skins are there are a lot of really badly made ones compared to a few good ones. Its possible to create your own skin and setup a deliplayer window via god mode and you can get fairly close to some winamp styled skins, providing that a certian setup is allways used.
The restrictivness of DP2 should cause any released to be of a general high quality.
I actually like the whole square based shape of dp2, fits nicely into corners and edges of the screen with other open windows, or takes up the whole background easily.
I only get slowdown if I try running several ram and cpu intensive programs at once (rare), and when this happens, I just cloes everything down to a taskbar icon near the clock and close one program I am not using as much and all is well.
