It has now been 10 months since the latest version of DP2, and 3 months since a developer showed up here at the forum. Should we begin to be worried? Yes, we heard: fulltime jobs. I also have a fulltime job (often even more than that) and still manage to update Modland most days of the week. No, I don't pretend that sorting some modules can be compared with developing an application like DP2. But having a job is a rather lame explanation for being completely silent. Even a message like "Sorry guys, we have no time for this anymore, it was fun while it lasted" would be appreciated, because then we could stop waiting for something that maybe never happens. Peter and Florian owe nothing to anyone, but it would be a nice thing to do.

Communication between the deliteam and their loyal customers and fans really should be improved. One post on the state of things really can´t be too much to ask for.

"There is no intention to abandon DeliPlayer".

Both Peter and Florian are preparing the next release, it has to be said though that priorities can shift unexpectedly. Without going into detail this is what has happened over the past months.

I have just been in contact with Florian

Quote 'Florian'

"The next release version is almost ready, some features must be disabled and
more testing must be done.
We will do this as soon as we can."

The dp2 foundation appears to be strong as comparatively few bugs have beeen reported over the past months relative to the size and complexity of the dp2 code.... after the next release we should start to see some prominant changes, augmentations and usage issues addressed as the project shifts gear once again. We are only viewing the tip of the dp2 iceberg at the moment, more features will be revealed.

Thank you for your understanding, both Florian and Peter are aware of the concern due to the lack of recent updates....They would like to stress that the project is very much alive.
It is professional pressures which limit the available time to make the next release public.,

Skol/Cheers

JOn.

That's good to hear, thanks for the update JOn. Now I can sleep at night once again

See? That's all it takes to keep the community/mob from bringing out the torches... Information über alles.

Thanks. While I would have preferred a statement from Peter and Florian directly, it's good to know that something is still happening behind the scenes.
