From http://www.vorc.org/crew/hex125/
Quote:
KbMedia Player is one of the most popular Japanese multi-players supporting over 50 formats. Not only audio files such as MP3, OGG, WAV, MIDI and various MOD formats, but also some standard movie formats are also available. It also works as easy but powerful chiptune player. The following formats are supported: FMP, PMD, S98 (PC-9801), MDX (X68000), SPC (SNES), NSF (NES), GBR, GBS (GAMEBOY), HES (PC-ENGINE), KSS, MGS, MPK, BGM, BGR, OPX (MSX), GYM, VGM (SMS, GG, GENESIS), SID (C64), AY (ZX), SAP (ATARI XE/XL), CYM, MYM (arcade), X1F (X1/turbo) etc. Additionally Kbwinamp allows you to use Winamp input plug-ins on KbMedia Player. Here's changes of this version:
Now *.mkv file extension is regarded as a movie file.
CueSheet file given to command line at startup wasn't played - fixed.
The following fixes related to kbmp3.kpi and kbmad.kpi.
* Opening part of a song might have not been played and lyric display might have been delayed - fixed.

Have you read that? it says: Additionally Kbwinamp allows you to use Winamp input plug-ins on KbMedia Player..
Why DeliPlayer doesn't Question

Because they would not work.

And, in the main not essential to what dp2 does.
PLus, we are very picky about stability.

However, if XMPlay and/or Winamp and/or other get to play all DP formats are playing, and it get stability, then why to use Deliplayer when other play even more formats?
So i'd strongly suggest you that make DP opensource or make it to allow Winamp plugins (which seems it is almost converted to a standard).

Now Winamp allows video too, because its development don't stop.
It allows to watch TV web channels, and Radio FM web channels.
If you download the latest Winamp Player:

http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/client/winamp51_full_51bundle_emusic-7plus.exe

its the winamp 5.1.. u will see it splashes a surround sound screen at start. no other version will work. as this is the only one which comes with web TV stuff.

Right click anywhere on the player.. click on Media Library.

In media library.. (the big window) select shoutcast TV.. at the left corner.

check all the options.. and click close..
remember check all options or u will just get some 10 TV streams..

just watch the list.. double click on the item u want and it comes..

check the image for reference..

Congratulations anyway for DP for windows

XMPlay or Winamp or others are not really a competition for DP2, as long the can't convert all the exotic tunes (Amiga most of all) to mp3 or wav.

I'll give those Winamp output plugins a try

I already tried the Delix plugin for XMPlay, and I can listen to a lot of the Amiga formats, but can you convert them too?

Nice to see people out there still interested in the old formats.

Deliplayer sorted that stuff out years ago.

Video will probably never be supported in dp2.. use WMP, you may as well. M$ insits

One of the main reasons for using dp2 for audio is.....its the best audio player.

Its not the most simple or jazzy. ---> its the best.

JOn, it is easy for everybody to say "DP is the best".
The difficult is to say why

Using it during weeks, i've realized XMPlay is not estable as DP2 is, but WinAMP with its last version is as estable as DP2. (i refer to DP2 latests public version 2.50b1).
The big difference is XMPlay and WinAMP seem to have a faster development and progress than DP. And one of the reasons is they are open to everyone can make plugins for it Cool

Woaw .. I should come here more often . So, there's still subjects like this it seems. No wonder there's no reply from authors !.
I'll try my luck at replying. Using anything else than DP on Winblows to play Amiga music formats is to get it played badly. (Ok, you could compile UADE and also get an also very good replaying). If you're satisfied with other players, then go at it. Convert at will, but please, PLEASE, don't spread. Nectarine (for instance) is polluted by too many badly converted files already. It's simply due to people like you that have no clue whatsoever about what is done to "play" these files.
I've battled for YEARS with the coders of the so-called "the best MODplayers" to get them playing simple MOD files correctly.
Not knowing something about the various (and numerous) Amiga music formats is all right. Nobody asked you (or anyone else) to know anything about them. You just could have the hosnesty to accept it and ask your questions in a more open minded view, like : "I can't seem to manage a correct conversion of an old amiga format [...]" etc. .
Well, I may sound ridiculous, but I had a couple of minutes to waste. I felt like I should spent them here .

Regards,
Asle was here Exclamation

I stopped using deliplayer since version 2 came out.
It's just too different from version 1. It's also not as light as 1 was, which was the reason I used 1. I also used 1 for playing the .sod files, which was very nice.
But that was just the only thing I used it for. I don't use it for playing music. I got Itunes for that. Even thoug Itunes is heavier than DeliPlayer 1, it has a lot of more functions that DeliPlayer 1 doesn't have.

I also think the step to DeliPlayer 2 was done all wrong. It was just totally different. I had a hard time understanding how to get to functions that were easy to find on DeliPlayer 1.

When it'll get as light as Deliplayer 1, and will have the easy interface of DP1, and will have the functions of iTunes, I'll be using DeliPlayer again

The topic about DP and winamp plugins, started by the same poster, has been moved to the Troll ground and was deadhorsed/locked (not by me, I want to add) before, so I dare say its a fruitless discussion...

Not that I wouldn't understand the wish, but if you're following the discussions on the forum and use the search function, you get the idea of the dev's intentions and philosophy behind DP.

If you like it or not is a different story - thats were choice comes in. And isn't it great that we're living in a world were we have freedom of choice? We can play the music that we like, we can watch the movies that we like... on the media player we like. (needless to say that some like DP, and some don't).

DP is simple (unbeliveable isn't it?), VERY FAST but stable? hmm not on my system. For instance DeliPlayer crash when loading a playlist with streaming audio EVERY single startup and sometimes the progressbar doesn't move. Nevertheless DP is my 1st (and only) choise.

And btw: What does VIDEO have to do in a music player?! DeliPlayer is a AUDIO player not a mediaplayer!

Adding video to DeliPlayer suddenly makes it more complex and more difficult to maintain. This in turn will also make it more error prone and perhaps unstable. I don't say that huge projects can't be good (SeaMonkey is a excellent example) but I still think we need separate audio players and video players... call me old fasion but that's the way I am!
